If your Contact (Lead, Prospect, or Client) owns commercial property, a farm, or any other business asset, here is how they would handle this in their intake form:
Assets owned by the Contact in his/her/their personal name should be entered in the intake form. By contrast, assets owned by a business that the Contact owns should not be entered into the intake form.
The reason for this is that a business asset is not owned in the Contact's personal name.
What is owned in the Contact's personal name is the business ownership itself, and this would be listed on the Businesses page of the intake form. There is a field called "Value of Business (As A Whole)" and the number provided in this field would be inclusive of all business assets, including cash on hand, accounts receivable, commercial property, inventory, tangible items such as livestock, and any other thing of value owned by the business.
If the Contact's business is a sole proprietorship, then those assets should be listed as if owned in the Contact's personal name since a sole proprietorship is not a formal legal entity.
If you want your Contact to enter their business assets as separate assets throughout the intake form anyway, be sure to have them clearly indicate that the owner of each asset is the business to ensure you have the proper information on hand regarding asset ownership.
