To export data to WealthCounsel, please follow the steps below. Note that WealthCounsel has disallowed any direct syncing with their system moving forward, and our current process involves exporting a CSV file that is compatible with WealthCounsel and importing it into WealthCounsel. This process takes about 1-2 minutes longer than syncing.

  • Hover to the left and click "Vaults":

  • Go into the contact record desired. Hover on the right of the contact record and click the green right arrow button:

  • Scroll down, click on the "See Data Bank" button:

  • At the left, click the Export Data Bank option, and choose WealthCounsel Export option.

  • A XSLX file will immediately download.

  • Open the XSLX file and do a quick review of the data.

  • You must change the file type from XSLX to CSV then Save it as a CSV file:

  • Log into WealthCounsel.

  • Click My Practice > Contacts.

  • Click More > Import Contacts.

  • Click Choose Files.

  • Choose the CSV file you converted.

  • Click Upload.

This imports all contacts into WealthCounsel, just as a sync would do.

Once the contacts are imported, whether by syncing or uploading a CSV file, please then take the following steps inside WealthCounsel:

  • If this is a couple, ensure the two individual clients are connected as spouses.

  • If the client has children whose names you imported, go into the client's contact record, to the Children section, search for each child and click to connect them to the client's contact record.

  • Add each contact to the matter (create the matter by going to My Practice > Matters).
